ABSU/MELECHESH’s Proscriptor To Launch New Record Label This Summer
July 4, 2004
ABSU/Melechesh drummer/vocalist Proscriptor (a.k.a Russ R. Givens) is launching a unique and revolutionary label, Tarot Productions, this summer. “My objective is to furnish the underground communities with high quality releases. The first of which will be my solo project titled Proscriptor’s “Thoth Music(k)” limited to 500 vinyl EPs. Rare and limited releases from Absu, Equimanthorn, Heaven’s Devils, Equitant, Divine Eve and Starchaser Network are in the works, including Morbid Scream, which had a vast influence on my principle band, ABSU. Plans are already afoot to release collectible LP and CD releases from these mentioned bands, as we are actively seeking old and new bands to sign up on Tarot Productions. We have our headquarters in Texas and are opening an office in Sweden by the autumn of 2004.”
Tarot Productions is also the official merchant for the Canadian drum company, Ayotte Drums, in the state of Texas.

**The new Proscriptor picture seven-inch EP "Thoth Musick" (Defenestration Records) will be released in July for sure.
***Proscriptor, along with Vincent Rossi, will be releasing Proscriptor’s 3rd, full-length album titled "726." Several label negotiations are under way, so the record should be out in a couple of months. Influenced by the metaphysical order of "Theurgia Goetia Summa," this album will take the listener into planes of meditation and synchronization with themselves. In other words, this will be an out-of-the-body listening experience consecrated to Proscriptor’s magickal number.
***For the first time ever, Proscriptor and Equitant will team up together to record a split CD titled "Proscriptor VS. Equitant" for both Black Montanus Productions (Owned by Equitant) and Tarot Productions. (Owned by Proscriptor) Not only that, but the antiquated ambient project EQUIMANTHORN will be resurfaced also. The third album, "Second Sephira Cella," will begin production in the near future. The line up consists of Proscriptor, Equitant, Vorskaath (Zemial/Agatus) and Dalkhu Zilittu. (Yamatu)
***Last but not least, Proscriptor and Equitant have formed new band called Starchaser Network. The name itself derives from "an interconnection strategy allowing frequencies of sound to communicate with galaxies of space." It can also be described as "the direct patching of MIDI lines between devices with a complex of electronic instruments." Earthlings, do you get the picture now? New material for a debut album is currently being worked on at the moment.

Proscriptor Press Release: Proscriptor signs with Dragon Flight Recordings & The Fossil Dungeon!
"Former Dark Age Productions co-owner and Cold Meat Industries/Cruel Moon International artist, Proscriptor McGovern, has signed a CD deal with Dragon Flight Recordings and a limited LP deal with The Fossil Dungeon. The album, The Serpentine Has Risen, is scheduled for release in February 2002, which will be a massively promoted project for both labels.
"In early 1998, Proscriptor’s second offering was originally to be released on Sweden’s Cold Meat/Cruel Moon Int’l, but they refused the album due to musical differences within the label. Two years later, Greece’s In Vision Musick decided that The Serpentine Has Risen deserved another chance for worldwide recognition, but it vanished instantly as the label went insolvent and failed. So, the album was finally released in minimal packaging on CD format - the last release ever on Dark Age Productions.
"Proscriptor is perhaps best known for his percussive/vocal work in the extreme metal outfits, Absu and Melechesh, which both have accomplished discographies. Both Dark Age Productions and Cold Meat Industries released the debut album of Proscriptor, The Venus Bellona, in 1996. He hopes to foresee future endeavors with these two unique labels and formulate 'innovation beyond the imagination of music(k).'
"Proscriptor describes his sound as being 'a concoction between progressive, dark wave music(k) and oscillation frequency experiments combined together.' These are the musical elements that tells the story concerning his past immortality in medieval Scotland and his rising transcendence for magic(k).
"And remember: 'lightlessness of sound, which is sometimes motionless, is essential in occultic and atmospheric music(k).'"

The year is/was 1270 in Glencoe, Scotland: I have the will to create magic(k) and the will to evolve inward from this modern era (2000) of dormant and monotonous degradation in world societies. Spirit is lacking in all things around and in us; this album is an immense "fuck off" to all mortals who only focus on mundane, trivial, and superficial aspects on Earth. Only Pagan ways are real, dammit!
